How furniture removal works

The process is built so you never have to guess what it will cost. You learn the price before the trip, not once the furniture is already in the stairwell.

1. You fill in the form and attach photosOn the form you say what needs removing, which floor it's on and whether the building has a lift. Attach photos — phone snaps are enough.
2. You get a price by phoneWe look at the photos and work out the price. Then we call the number you gave us.
3. You choose a timeIf the price works for you, we agree a day and time that suits you.
4. We arrive and take it awayWe dismantle if needed, carry it out of the flat, load it and haul it to the landfill. You don't carry anything.

What happens on the day itself

On arrival the first thing we look at isn't the furniture but the route. We check the door opening, the turns in the hallway, the stairwell and the landing outside the flat door. Those points decide whether a sofa comes out whole or has to be dismantled first. The turn between two flights of stairs is usually the narrowest point on the whole route — more often than the flat door itself.

After that, if it's needed, we dismantle. On a wardrobe we take the doors off and lift out the shelves; on a bed we unscrew the sides from the headboard; on a sofa we take off the legs and separate the corner section. Then we carry it out, load it and drive it away. For one ordinary item all of that takes a short while; for a full apartment, correspondingly longer.

Why we need photos

Photos show us what words don't: the real size of an item, its condition, and whether it will go through the door in one piece. A corner sofa, a double bed and a large wardrobe almost always have to be dismantled — that's a separate piece of work, and we cost it in advance.

Why we ask for the floor and the lift

The floor and the lift determine how much physical work carrying out involves. A mattress or the side panel of a wardrobe often won't fit in the lift even when the building has one — then everything goes down the stairs. We collect from upper floors with no lift too; there's no limit on the number of floors, so we simply need to know beforehand.

That's why we ask on the form. If the information is right, the price doesn't change on the day of the removal.

If something on site is different

Sometimes the real situation doesn't match the request: there are two more chairs standing next to the sofa that weren't in the photos, or the lift turns out not to be working. In that case we tell you before starting work, not afterwards. You decide whether we carry on with the new scope or take only what was booked. You will never get an invoice for something you didn't agree to.

It works the same way in the other direction: if it turns out there is less furniture than booked, you pay for what was actually removed, subject to the €30 minimum order, excluding VAT.
