Bulky Item Removal

When furniture is being removed, other things usually stay behind in the room that are just as awkward to deal with yourself — too big for a car, too big for a bin. We take those along on the same visit, and no separate trip is needed.

What else we remove

• Rugs and large floor coverings. A rolled-up rug is surprisingly heavy and above all unwieldy: it's long, it won't bend, and on a stairwell landing it takes two people to carry. An old rug has often soaked up damp and dust as well;
• Mirrors and glass surfaces. Fragile — when moving them we wrap them and carry them on edge rather than flat, because a large sheet of glass carried flat breaks under its own weight;
• Bicycles and gym equipment. A treadmill, a cross-trainer or a multi-gym rack is very heavy and usually has to be partly dismantled — whole, it won't go through a flat door. We take dumbbells and weight plates too, but they have to be carried separately rather than in a box;
• Garden furniture and parasols. These are usually stored in a garage, a basement or on a terrace, so they tend to be dirty, damp or mossy. That's no obstacle — say so in the form, so we know to prepare them for transport;
• Prams, cots and large toys. Slides, playhouses and paddling pools that are too big for a bin;
• Suitcases, boxes and other bulky belongings;
• Household appliances.

Better value in one go with the furniture

These things are almost always removed on the same trip as the furniture. There's a practical reason: the minimum order is €30, excluding VAT, so a separate trip for one rug or one bicycle costs the same as a trip for a piece of furniture. Added to a furniture removal or an apartment clearance, they usually don't affect the price significantly.

What we don't remove

Here the line is firm and independent of the volume:

• Construction waste — concrete, bricks, tiles, plaster, windows and doors after removal
• Hazardous waste — batteries, oils, fuels
• Chemicals — paints, solvents, household chemicals
• Tyres

We also don't do house moves — we remove furniture and hand it over for disposal, rather than transporting it to a new address. If you're not sure whether your item qualifies, send a photo through the form and ask — we'll answer before the visit, not on the doorstep.
