The blocks in Adazi come from different periods — older buildings with a narrow stairwell as well as newer developments with a lift and a wider entrance. So the form always asks for the floor and whether the item will physically fit in the lift; a tall wardrobe and a double mattress won't go into most lifts, even where there is one.
Here the main issue isn't the furniture but the access: driving onto the site and the working hours often have to be arranged in advance with the building manager or the responsible member of staff.
Adazi municipality also takes in coastal, rural and restricted areas that are nothing like the town's own housing. If the property is outside the town — towards Kadaga or Carnikava, for example — say so in the form so we plan the route correctly.
Access: new-build neighbourhoods and the lower Gauja
Access in Adazi is usually affected by two things. The first is that development is still ongoing: on new estates the street surface, the turning space and the approach to the house aren't always what they look like on a map. Soft or unfinished ground means a heavy vehicle can't be parked close to the door and the furniture has to be carried a longer stretch by hand.
The second is the local road network in the lower reaches of the Gauja. Access to some places around Adazi depends on particular bridges and approach roads, so the exact address matters more than the name of the neighbourhood. In the A1 corridor traffic can be heavy morning and evening, and we take that into account when scheduling within the day.
It's also worth flagging gates, fencing or a guarded site in the form — those are what most often lengthen the job if we only find out about them on arrival.
