In Zolitude two buildings can stand opposite each other, and an old bed comes out of one whole in the lift and out of the other only dismantled and down the stairs. We arrive at the agreed time, dismantle if needed, carry the piece out of the room, load it and take it to the landfill.
Zolitude is a call-out district — we have no office here. What to do and with how many people is decided from your photos.
Two generations of building side by side — and it changes the whole job
The most distinctive thing about Zolitude in our work is that Soviet-era apartment estates and new schemes stand side by side in one district. That difference determines whether a piece travels in the lift or down the stairs.
There is usually a lift, but the cabin was calculated for people, not furniture: a double mattress, a tall wardrobe or the carcass of a corner sofa won't fit. It becomes a stairs job, and the deciding spot is not the flat door but the half-landing, where a long item can't be turned.
Corridors tend to be wider, and some buildings have a goods lift or at least a larger cabin — then the same bed comes out whole, with no dismantling. Access, on the other hand, isn't open: the entrance, the underground car park and the waste room are usually on a code or a card, and in some buildings bulky items have to go through a specific entrance.
In shops, educational and service premises, worn-out shelving, tables and chairs have to come out in a window that suits the site's operating hours, not on a freely chosen morning.
That is why the form asks not only for the floor but also whether there's a lift and what type of building it is. In Zolitude that decides whether we dismantle the piece or carry it whole.
The balcony and the basement — where old furniture in Zolitude mostly waits
There's no free space in a standard-series flat, so a piece that's been written off moves to the balcony or a basement compartment. On the balcony it tends to have bikes, tyres and boxes stacked on it, which have to come off first. In a basement compartment the passage is narrow and the doorway lower than the flat door, so large carcasses often come out only in parts. In the new schemes the basement is usually drier, but access to it needs a code. If the furniture is there, say so on the form.
Access: internal roads, parking and locked entrances
Zolitude's road framework is the railway, Karla Ulmana gatve and the roads towards the airport — that's the context for how the district connects to the rest of the city, and why we try to plan jobs on this side of western Pardaugava into a single run.
On site a different question matters more: how close to the entrance the van can stand. In the estates the access roads between buildings are narrow and taken up by residents' cars during the day, so sometimes the van stays further off and we carry the last leg by hand. In the new-scheme areas access is usually better organised, but the entrance is locked. Codes, barriers and passes are arranged by the owner or the building manager, not by us — mention it on the form straight away.
What we remove in Zolitude
We take household and office furniture in any condition, damaged pieces included. Most often it's sofa removal and mattress removal, alongside beds, wardrobes, tables, chairs and shelving. If a piece won't come down the stairwell whole, we dismantle it; if all the rooms have to be emptied, that's apartment clearance. Everything else is in the services section.
Prices in Zolitude

In Zolitude the price is set by the volume, the floor and whether the piece can be managed without dismantling. That's why the building type matters here: a wider corridor and a bigger cabin mean less work than the same bed in an older standard-series block. Send photos — we'll quote a figure that doesn't change on site, as long as the situation matches what we saw. See the full price list →
Around Zolitude
On the same side of Pardaugava we work in Imanta, Ilguciems and Ziepniekkalns. We also drive out to Sampeteris, Zasulauks and Beberbeki. The other districts are listed on the furniture removal in Riga page.
Construction waste, hazardous waste and tyres are not our load. We also don't take furniture to a new home — we remove it from the property and hand it over for disposal.

Frequently asked questions
If the piece fits in the cabin whole, there's no need to dismantle it. Tell us whether the building has a goods lift and attach a photo — then we can say in advance.
We carry down the stairs. The cabin is for people, not furniture, so a tall wardrobe, a mattress or a corner sofa won't go. The deciding spot is the half-landing — if an item can't be turned there, we plan the dismantling before setting out.
Only with access arranged. In the new schemes the entrance, the car park and the waste room are often locked. The code is arranged by the owner or the building manager — say on the form if that's needed.
No, but it takes time: what's stacked on it has to come off first, and then the piece has to be lifted back through the room. Mention it on the form so we plan with some slack.
Yes. We take worn-out shelving, tables, chairs and cabinets. We schedule the work for a time that suits the premises — tell us an acceptable window and whether a pass is needed.
